Josée Guertin passed away on April 9, 2024 after a long illness. Aged 52, she was originally from St-Jean-Baptiste and lived most of her life in Montreal. She taught at École Henri-Julien for over twenty years. Generous, laughing and devoted to both her students and her family, she spread joy all around her. There was never a dull moment in her presence. Josée was a lover of life.

She is survived by her husband Jean-François, daughters Mathilde and Abigaël, parents Gaston and Jeannine, brother Jocelyn (Anne-Josée), sister Manon (Rémi), mother-in-law Cécile (late Victor), brothers-in-law Mario (Manon), Donald (Annie) and Dominic (Véronique), nephews and nieces Samuel, Éloïse, Cléo, Félix, Zackary, Élodie, Alexis, Clément and Édouard, great-niece Sofia, uncles and aunts, cousins and many relatives, friends and colleagues.

Josée is gone, her memory shimmering in all that nature has to offer.

The family will receive condolences on April 27, 2024, from 2 to 5 p.m., at the Urgel Bourgie / Athos Funeral Complex, 6700 Beaubien Street East, Montreal. A tribute ceremony will be held at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
