Every family needs a person like him. Funny, unconventional and entertaining to talk to. He would give us lottery tickets and say :"okay so whoever's ticket wins anything above 2$ goes to me" as a joke of course. He always had a good story to tell. He never allowed anyone to stay quiet in their corner at any event. He was opened to conversations and most importantly; listened. He once told me that life goes by fast and many things happen and change is a constant. You gotta live it for you and not for anyone else. He will be missed.

A heart of gold stopped beating. Two smiling eyes at rest. GOD broke our hearts, to prove to us, HE only takes the best. SERGE.

Hi kingsley family we have known philip for such a long time. It is with a very heavy and sad heart to hear of his passing. Whenever we were together it was always fun. He was the light of the party. He was always willing to give people a back rub. He had such a powerful voice when singing the house of the rising sun. Philip always had a smile for every one. Rest in peace philip. Philip had a wonderful love of life. Food, drink, music and family were the centre of his universe. When you were around Philip you could not help but be drawn into his world. He was just that type of guy. He had a fantastic ability to connect with people, and was always able to find common ground using his incredible breadth of knowledge and his great sense of humor. Cheers to you Phil. Thank you for shining your light into our lives. You left far to soon and will be greatly missed.

I remember you guys playing ball hockey in pop's back yard. One of you nicked him in the nose. High sticking. I just watched. To rough for me. He took me to Expo 67 , in 1978. Bought me a nice jacket. Going to Phil's with Guilaume for pizza and hockey was so cool. We would often all meet up at Pop's. Phil and Diana would show up to make it a special day. And his back yard bbq's were the best. Our funniest movie of all time was the Odd Couple. We would talk about it a lot. Phil was my model for being cool and a great part of our team. I love you bro. I miss you. Say hello to Pop and Dave. Jamie.

My brother was a few years older than me, so he was truly part of the 60’s Generation. He saw the Beatles, Stones, and Dylan at the Forum, John and Yoko at the QE. I could only listen in awe and wish I could have been there. He knew Montreal in detail – the history, shifty politics and dubious economy, and could give you wonderful information and stories on any district and even street in Montreal, going back to the Drapeau era. He brought lots of books into the family home, so at nine years old I was reading John Streinbeck and Somerset Maugham, and so began my career of pretending to be literary like him. He loved reading world history and biographies of famous people, and we would talk endlessly on various topics, and he always seemed to know more than I did. But he did this all to keep the family together, like the famous July 1st BBQs that he and Diana hosted with Tom and Shirley. He helped each of his siblings differently, and I’m sure he knew how much we appreciated him, and knows how much we will miss him. You’re in a better place, Philip. Till we meet again.

Philip; We sang New-York-New York in a karaoke bar, and many other outings. Keep singing in heaven. I will miss you till my last breath. See you. Your sister.

When we think of Philip, we have to smile as he was one of the most entertaining and warm characters I've ever met. He was able to hold an audience captive with his stories and jokes and a party without Philip would be pretty boring. Family was so important to him and he made sure that they kept in touch and got together for brunch from time to time. He was a very generous person and was always ready and willing to help out a family member or friend in need. We were privileged to have crossed his path many times at various family celebrations at Diane and Dennis' home. We will always cherish our memories of being in his presence! Keep the heavens in laughter, Philip!

Please accept my deepest sorrow for your heartbreaking loss. One of my fond memories was being introduced to wine and pate by Philip. Also being entertained by his singing especially House of the Rising Sun and Proud Mary. He and Diana were best Rock and Roll dancers on any floor. Philip was a remarkable man and all the family are better for having known him. Rest in heavenly peace Philip.

Was just told this sad news from a mutual friend of Diana’s. No words can express my sincere sympathies to the family. Hopefully, in time life will take on new experiences and memories will serve as a comfort rather than sadness. Be well

This man had a great sense of humor. He always had a good story to tell. He would listen to others and never let anyone get bored or feel lonely. He traveled, and enjoyed his time while he was among us. He will be missed. A true Bon vivant.
