Reginald Frederick

On Friday September 11, 2020, the Frederick family lost a great patriarch and the community of La Salle lost one of its most stalwart residents.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Reginald (Reggie) Frederick. Reggie was born in Trinidad, West Indies on 28th October 1923 to Conrad and Rebecca (Safety) Frederick. He was the devoted husband to Norma Frederick (nee Cummings) for fifty-five years until her passing in January 2019. Reggie was the brother of Cecil Frederick, Roy Frederick, Eniss Agatha Morris, Agnes Enid Fife and Carlton Frederick (all deceased) and the surviving Sylester (Kelvin) Frederick.

Reggie was a dedicated father to Phillip (Michelle), grandsons Neil (Kim), Brian, Phillip Jr, Matthew, and great grandfather to Sydell. He was the loving Uncle Reggie to and many nieces and nephews and “adopted” nieces and nephews.

Reggie and his beloved Norma first met in Trinidad. They later got together in Montreal and were married in 1961. Reggie spent many years as a sailor. One of the boats he worked on was called Sun Victory. He and Norma and made their permanent home in La Salle, Quebec where they cultivated special relationships that will never be forgotten.

Up until his sudden death Reggie continued to socialize with his friends and family. Always reminding us that family is important and encouraging us to stick together. He loved family and he loved people.

We will never forget our beloved father, brother, friend.

Rest in Peace, Uncle Reggie.
