It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Abraham on December 31st, 2021 in Montreal, Quebec.
He is survived by his loving wife Pippa, sons Michael and David, mother Pearl, brothers Ferris (Celyne) and Donald (Carol), father-in-law John, brother-in-law Michael (Bissy), as well as many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many adoring friends and coworkers.
Peter was a hardworking and compassionate man, shown by his commitment to the family company, Simard Transport. As President, he worked tirelessly to ensure its growth and the wellbeing of its employees. He also spent much of his time in service to the community. He was instrumental in building the new Cedars Home for the Elderly, a longtime member of the Cedars Cancer Foundation, a board member for the McGill University Health Centre, and a faithful member of the St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. Peter was willing to help and listen to anyone at any time of day or night; his advice and mentorship had a profound and memorable impact on many lives.
Through all of this, Peter always made time for his wife and children. They were his greatest joys; he treasured every moment with them and strove to give them the best quality of life possible.
Peter’s unmatched work ethic, generosity, and dedication endeared him to all. He will be deeply missed.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff at Camille Lefebvre as well as to Irene, his caregiver, for her incredible devotion as she spent these past few years by his side.
Donations in Peter’s memory can be made to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church or the Cedars Cancer Foundation.
