Loving Father, Brother, Friend and Fiancé
Celebrating the life of an extraordinary man who chased his goals and dreams regardless of the obstacles: Yani John Sztrikacs. After a short battle with cancer he succumb to the disease and went to heaven on March 31st, 2021.

Yani was predeceased by his father Joseph Sztrikacs and his mother Georgia Garagiotou.
Yani will be dearly missed by his two older brothers Joe Sztrikacs (Judy Anto) and Costa Sztrikacs, his daughter Kellyann Lyons-Sztrikacs, his two nephews Michael and Nicholas Anto-Sztrikacs, his fiancé Michelle Vogn and many other family and friends.

Yani was born in Montreal of Hungarian and Greek descent on March 1st 1967. He was soon baptized in the Greek Orthodox Church where his family was an integral part of the community. As a child, he attended Devonshire Elementary becoming part of the self-proclaimed "Devonshire crew" making lifelong bonds and friendships along the way. As Yani grew and matured, athletics became a focal point of his life, especially Basketball.

In his younger days, he was a part of the Sun Youth Organization before moving on to bigger and better things becoming one of the top players in the Greek A1 Basketball League. Following his brief basketball career, Yani returned to Canada where his artistry and entrepreneurialism began to flourish. In parallel to this, 23 years ago, he became a loving and caring father to his beautiful daughter Kellyann.

Yani’s creativity, passion and drive lead him towards a career in the music industry where he saw many accolades including a double-platinum hit “Goodbye”, written and produced in collaboration with Glen Morrison featuring Islove. Yani was also involved in many other memorable projects including “The butt dance” and “Zero restrictions” where his talents and diverse styles were on full display.

Recently, Yani met Michelle and renewed his faith in Jesus. The two were set to be wed in August of this year.

Yani’s music, humor, love for people and adventurous life will eternally live on in the hearts of those he loved.
