1930 - 2020
In Montreal, on April 29, 2020 died at the age of 90 Mr. Rock M. Poulin
He is survived by his beloved wife (Yolande Danis), his 3 children Micheline (Pierre-André), Manon (Louis) and Rocky (Anna), his grandchildren Gabrielle, Stephanie, Dominic, Caroline, Isabelle and Julien, as well as his great-grandchildren and several nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Rock, we are saddened by your departure, but we have so many happy memories. You have been for us a loving father, always ready to lend a hand and guide us. In addition to being generous, intellectual, passionate, devoted to the happiness of his family, patient, very skilled in cabinet making, carpentry and gardening you also put humor in our lives. It was always a pleasure to discuss with him current issues and his extraordinary international anecdotes. It is with great regret that this enthusiast of Geology and Photography has left us. With his name assigned to the great hydroelectric works of this world he leaves an incredible image of his passion for geology in the realization of major civil works.
In addition to his global geological contributions, Rock continued to teach his love of geology to his co-workers and the people around him. Today, many Tunisian, Chinese, Indian and other geologists have great esteem for this dedicated man.
The geological community of Quebec and Canada today mourns the loss of a Giant. A Giant appreciated by his peers, who has received numerous honorary distinctions such as the Medal of Honor of Quebec, received from the Governor General of Quebec.
Rock, we carry your values and we will remember forever your courage and resilience. Now, you are without pain, without fear and without suffering. Rest in peace, our dear father and beloved friend.
