Mom was the most wonderful mother, truest friend, best grandmother and fiercest person. She was educated, kind, beautiful, insightful, no-nonsense, and, somehow, all-knowing. She lived by experience and always remembered the tale. She tried to prepare us for the inevitable but also knew that that was an impossible task. We miss her every single minute of every single day. That won't stop. She knew we would, because she knew everything, and I hope that's because she also knew how wonderful and important she was. Until we meet again, mom. I hope that you are comfortable, happy and with Nonna. Love you.

My sincerest condolences to Oriana's family on their loss. I worked with Oriana for many years at CN Marketing but lost touch with each other as we went on with our separate careers and lives. She was such a lovely person and we had a lot of laughs working together. I will always remember her this way. Rest in peace Oriana.

Dear Mirhossein, Pasha & Natasha, I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of your beloved wife and mother. She was a lovely person who cared so deeply for her family. A gentle person who will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her. I wish you strength in getting over this tremendous loss. May your happy memories of her, and I am sure you have many, inspire and help you during this difficult time and for always.

My sincere condolences to the Valavy family. I was deeply saddened by the passing of Oriana. I worked with Oriana at Villa Maria High School for many years. She was a driving force behind the success of the Villa Maria Parent Teachers' Association. She worked very hard on many school projects and activities sponsored by the VMPTA. She enthusiastically supported our events and gave so much of herself to help us meet our goals. I remember when she and I truly had so much fun planning various events. Her kindness, organizational skills and sense of humor made working with her a great pleasure. Oriana was also a active member of the Villa Maria Mothers' Guild. She was proud of her family and of their accomplishments. I will remember Oriana with great fondness.

Mom... I swear it's been a hundred times that I've almost picked up a phone and dialed the home number.. just to tell you about my day.. to ask about your day.. to hear your voice.. to give me a little motivation.. to give you a little motivation.. You loved hearing about our comings and goings. Yeah, it felt overbearing at times, and I never really understood that, until Maddie came along. Now I cant go 5 seconds without thinking about what shes doing and where she is.. You were just being a good mom.. you were just filling our house with love.. and what a love it was.. You were right. What you went through wasnt fair, you didnt deserve it, you never did anything wrong.. but when it was time to fight, you fought like hellfire.. you could have taken down Tyson in his prime.. and despite the fact that every time you looked at us you saw your baby boy and girl, when you made up your mind, you sat us down like grown ass adults and laid down the law The expression is right.. you never really know what you have until it's gone.. I guess that applies to both of us? I dont know.. Miss you mom.. love you

It is with sadness that I learned the news of Oriana's passing. I knew her as a loving daughter, wife, mother and most notebly an active and committed parent volunteer at Edward Murphy School. She served as chairperson of the Parents' Committee and generously gave her time and support to the EMS community. She reprsented the ideal model of home and school collaboration. Mirhossein, Pasha, and Natasha, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of sorrow and loss. May the spirit of your wife and mother live on in the fond memories you share of happy times together. My years at EMS will be among those memorable thoughts of Orianna. May she rest in peace. Sincerely, Sharon McDonald

Though we did not know each other for very long Oriana’s humanity and compassion were self-evident. Even more so in the context of her illness. Her courage belayed it's gravity and her suffering. She lived for and loved her family, especially the new arrivals. A civil and generous character, cheerful in the face of adversity she is deeply missed. She lives on in her children and grandchildren who brought her such joy. True to her love she wished to be remembered to Maddie and Harry.

My sincerest condolences to Oriana's family and friends. Oriana was a cherished childhood friend since the days of Edward Murphy School and Doran. I remember her as quiet yet bubbly, so very kind and sweet, with a smile that would light up a room. I have so many very fond memories of her. I last saw her in July 2015 and although there had been a big passage in time, she was still the same 'ole' wonderful person I knew growing up. She certainly will be missed. Rest in peace.

We lost another angel on earth. Let me tell you about Oriana... Oriana, was my sisters dear friend from Italy & from the day i was born, i knew Oriana, (been 50 yrs now) but not only as my sisters friend, but my friend too, but MOST important, i also saw her as one of my OWN sister & she treated me, like her baby sister growing up. I was very fortunate, to have had her in my life & she always accepted me, for who i was. Oriana was the most, loving, caring, giving, understanding, generous, & most beautiful soul, that existed. I know that she is finally in peace, after all her struggles, but it just doesn't seem right. She has gone to soon, but will never be forgotten. I love you so much Oriana Iannuccelli-Valavy & thank you, for being a part of my life. My heart is aching & aching for your family. My sincere & deepest condolences to the family

My sincere condolences to Oriana's family and friends. We attended the same High School. She and Bianca Salutari were always together so that is how I met her. Later in the years I would meet her on the 33 bus on my way home from work. She had a beautiful smile and sweet and kind heart a wonderful person. I retired in 2011 and haven't seen her since. She was an angel on Earth! She will hold a special place in my heart always!

Oriana was an honest and no nonsense person, that’s why I think we were kindred spirits. We both are similar in that way. She was a fire cracker and nothing got passed her. She could be a funny lady when she wanted to be, with her one liners. She made me laugh often, even during times when she was suffering. Oriana had a heart of gold. and it was a pleasure to spend some quality visits with her, during some , not so easy times in the last couple of months. She was so strong. I admire her selflessness . It was a pleasure to call her my friend and she will be missed by all. Oriana, your memory will live on. Rest In Peace my dear friend.

On behalf of the Donovan family we would like to offer our sincere and heartfelt condolences to Oriana's family and to all those who knew her. We've known Oriana for many many years. I knew of Oriana through my mother. They worked together at CN back in the late 70's and early 80's, before my mom Lorraine retired. Oriana was a person that was so easy to love and talk to. She had such a giving personality and a smile that would melt even the coldest of hearts. She and I chatted online from time to time when she was really ill. She helped me get through my mother's passing earlier this year. She was there for me! I tried to be there for her too. Praying together and sharing her precious time with me when she should have been resting. My angel candle is lit for you Oriana. I will keep you in my prayers and in my heart always.
