Rita Forgacs (née White)
Ritual recording

Beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and teacher. Passed away peacefully at 6 pm on the beautiful, summer day of Monday September 9th in Montreal.

Born and raised in Point Leamington, Newfoundland. Educated in Newfoundland and Montreal, Quebec. She spent most of her working career teaching in Montreal. She married the late Nicklaus (Nick) Forgacs in 1965 and they lived in Pointe Claire for approximately 25 years, upon her retirement she relocated to Brockville Ontario, where she resided for 24 years.

Rita is survived by her son Andras Forgacs(Sheila Marcotte), grandson John Thomas and remaining brothers and sisters; Joyce Runde, Minnie Summers, Gertrude Brake, William White, Thomas White, Arch White and Ivan White. She joins her parents(Thomas and Dora) and siblings Audrey Parsons, Nellie Foote, Grace Bennett Philpott, Reginald White in glory.

Her greatest joys came from time she had spent teaching music to children and reading scripture. She also had a lifelong affinity for painting. She was the teacher who made a generation of children spit out their gum and stand up straight. She will be missed by all who know her. She belonged with us, now she belongs to God.

A Small memorial service will be held on Saturday September the 21st 2019 from 2-5 at the Urgel Bourgie Funeral Home in Lasalle.

In lieu of flowers, any donations made to the Heart + Stroke Foundation of Canada in her memory via their website https://hsf.donorportal.ca,in in her memory are welcome.

Andras, Sheila, and JT - Your mom will be missed forever. She was one of the greatest sisters anyone could have. I think of all the great moments and times we have had growing up together. I think of all the great conversations over the phone in the recent years. She is in a wonderful place and I can't wait to be with her someday, however the shock that was sent through my body when I heard she passed will not be forgotten. Much love to you all - Aunt Minne

Andras, Shelia, and John. I was saddened to hear of Aunt Rita’s sudden passing. It seems like only yesterday that Mom and I had such a nice visit with her when we were in Montreal. It certainly did my heart good to hear her stories and have a chance to look at the many paintings she was ready to hang. Her quick wit and love of family will certainly be missed. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Natasha, Uncle Tom, and Aunt Stella

Andras, Sheila, John and Family Several weeks ago we enjoyed a wonderful afternoon with your mom. We reminisced about school days over 40 years ago and old friends; your mom shared her story about the past years in Brockville and resettling back in Pointe Claire to be closer to those so dear to her. We extend to you all our deepest sympathy at this time.

Andres, Sheila, John Thomas and the White Family, My deepest sympathy to you all. May God wrap his arms around each of you and give you comfort and strength. My beautiful Sister in Law, Rita, has gained her much deserved wings and is now flying with the angels. Rita’s greatest loves were God and her family and this was quite evident in the way she lived her life. I will cherish my memories of all our get together. Rest In Peace Rita, you will never be forgotten.

My beautiful and much loved sister. I have never met a smarter or more intelligent person. She was indeed beloved by her family and one of the purest and most beautiful souls, a devoted mother, proud of her son and amazed by her grandson. I will miss her sharp mind and her witty and challenging comebacks. I loved every minute of our many conversations - but they were far too few. Rest in peace Rita. You will be missed but you will live forever in our memories.
