Ritual recording

Kitty was very much loved by her family and many friends throughout her lifetime.

Kitty was definitely the matriarch of the Conroy family, holding most if not all family events; Christmases, birthdays, etc. at her house. How she squeezed the entire Conroy family into one extremely small room of her house the size of a cupboard we will never know, but do it she did. Memories of events in her basement with the entire family, Paddy always behind the bar serving drinks, and Kitty running around making sure everyone was served will always be a cherished memory for us all.

Kitty and her husband Mario loved to downhill ski, Again family memories of them staying at Margaret and Charlie’s (her brother) trailer at the bottom of Mont Habitant and later staying in Charlie and Margaret’s house in Saint-Sauveur, and skiing well into their late 70’s; sometimes 4 times per week was the norm. As well Kitty enjoyed her Golf more than most, and even in her 80’s would be found walking 18 holes pretty well 4 times per week. The sounds of her yelling “MARIO !” while she was looking for him for him to take his next shot are probably still echoing through the fairways the Caughnawaga Golf Club. Kitty was in her young 80’s when she shot a hole in one while golfing with her nephew’s wife Sue. And even though she loved to Golf, she equally enjoyed and loved the company of her “golf-buddies” at the Caughnawaga Golf Club. When she took sick and was unable to go Golfing, or not even able to go to the club for lunch, she talked over and over about how she missed seeing everyone so very much.

After a very lengthy illness and a battle that most people could not imagine for 2 years, Kitty passed away on Friday, Feb 2nd surrounded by loving family at the age of 86. Her kind heart and strength will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her brother Peter (Jeanette), sister in laws Margaret and Joan, nieces Cathy (Roger), Cheryl ( Peter), Kim (Mike), and nephews Frank (Sue), Kevin (Patti), and Richard (Shelly). She also leaves behind many great nieces and nephews, many friends from Caughnawaga Golf Club as well many ski friends from Mont Olympia.

Kitty was a tower of strength, and she taught us all how to stay young in mind and at heart. We all loved her and miss her so very very much.

To Cathy and Family, I’m so sorry for your loss. I will miss not seeing Kitty at the golf course and our quick chats and always a hug just before she hurried to her starting time with the girls. Kitty was such a wonderful person and I was always amazed on the amount of energy and drive she had. Although she didn’t play as much golf this past year – I know that she is playing golf now with Mario by her side. My sincere condolences Debbie Moody.

To all of Kitty's family, my deepest sympathy at the loss of a wonderful sister and aunt. I have many great memories of golfing with Kitty and the ladies at the club. Kitty was a very strong person, she always amazed me how she would walk the 18 holes until the last couple of years. We often called each other and talked for a while and golf was usually in the conversation. I will miss her very much. Margo Swan
