Messages in memory of Martine Agnant

I had the honor of meeting and knowing Martine more than ten years ago. When I met Martine the first time, her family was also mourning the death of her sister's Josie son. Martine, although I didn't always get the opportunity to see you every time you came to visit Florida, there were enough times I was blessed to have been around you and in your presence; and there were times I had spoken to you over the phone and seeing you through FaceTime when I sometimes visited Josie at her house. Just last year in the summer, Josie picked me up from my job after work and we headed straight to Hollywood beach. I remember as if it was yesterday, you called Josie while we parked the car and Josie handed me the phone so I can talk with you. Our short conversation was quite refreshing; and we joked and laughed so much. The last time I got to see you and spend time being in your presence was just a few month ago, back in February 2017 to be exact, again, that too feels like it was just yesterday. You were like "the perfect person" and thats just how I saw you. Not only you were beautiful on the outside, but you were even more beautiful on the inside. You were kindhearted and compassionate; you were comforting (to others no matter who it was), understanding, tendering & easygoing; not to mention you were a lot of fun to be around & you made people laugh a lot. I don't even remember a dull moment being around you! I always heard you called everyone you came in contact with "sheri" (darling in french). I also know how much you love your family and the unconditional love you all shared with each other. You have fought the toughest fight, but god knows best. He chose you, a beautiful angel gained in heaven to be right next to him. Although it feels empty without you and the thought your presence (void) no longer with us, it saddens me deeply, you no longer have to endure the pain and suffering.

I had the pleasure of working with Martine at Domtar. She was always kind, compassionate and always willing to help or go the extra mile. She had a positive effect on everyone she interacted with. She was a great person one we will all miss. Maureen & Reginald your mom spoke of you often and with love & pride. Remember the good times & keep these memories close & be sure to share them with your family. My deepest sympathies to the family.

Couz, ti-shou, Loudy, these are all the names you called me. It's unimaginable that I will no longer hear your voice again. In life your spirit shined brightly, you brought warmth with your sheer presence. Your heart was enormously generous. Your strength unparallelled. You fought a tough battle, but the Lord needed you home. Your physical flame has gone out but your radiance will always remain bright in our hearts. RIP ti-chou....until we meet again!

''Grand-maman'' We will truly miss you. Only loving memories will fill our thoughts while we go through this time of sorrow. You were always encouraging everyone to set goals and work hard to achieve them. You would tell me not to set limits on what I could achieve. You truly believed that there were no limits and that you could achieve whatever you wanted. You were a remarkable woman!! A wonderful combination of warmth and kindness, laughter and love. You overlooked our faults, encouraged our dreams, and praised our every success You will remain forever my idol, my model and I wish laulau becomes just like you.You are gone to a better place now, heaven is so lucky to have you over there. We love you so much, words can't even describe it.

Martine, you have been a blessing to everyone who had the chance to know you, bringing a ray of sunshine in the darkest moment through that congenial smile that adorned your bubbly personality. Knowing you was loving you. You will be sorely missed although your memory will live forever in our heart. Heaven has earned a new Angel and will be brighter from now on. I imagine the feast that your dad Marc, grandma Luce, uncles Pradel & Lucien, your cousin TiLuce, and so many others are having to celebrate your presence among them while the void you leave behind can never be filled. Let me hold you in my arms and just whisper in your ears "until we meet again". You have earned your rightful place in heaven through your deeds and the pains you bore with great courage and serenity. I salute you, my darling niece. I seem to hear you calling me "ma tante Maryse" with such affection in your voice. I love you and always will. I have a hard time accepting that you are no longer with us but I take solace in knowing that you are no longer the prey of suffering and you are being cared for by God Almighty right next to him. I love you my Martine. Ta tante Maryse
