Spiro Gavaris
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Spiro Gavaris in his 73rd year at the Montreal General Hospital. Beloved husband of Angeline Destounis of 52 years, cherished father of Julie (Socrates Goulakos), George (Louise Laflamme) and Marietta (Sam Gen). Adored grandfather of Constance, Christopher and Spiro Goulakos, Angelica, Spiro, Monica and Andrew Gavaris. Loving brother of Clara and Helen Gavaris, the late Pauline Gavaris Laphkas, and the late Dorothy Gavaris Sperdakos (John). Dear brother-in-law to Jimmy, Billy and Anastasia Destounis. He will be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Jeremy Sturgeon, Dr. Yosh Taguchi and Dr. Henry Shibata as well as the caring staff at the Montreal General Hospital.
The funeral service will take place on Monday March 31st at 12 p.m. at St-George’s Greek Orthodox Cathedral 2455 Cote St-Catherine Road.
