On December 21, 2024, Johanne Martel-Roy passed away in Sherbrooke at the age of 71. She was surrounded by the love of her husband of more than 50 years, Claude Roy, her daughters Amélie and Marie-Ève, her granddaughters Mia and Raphaëlle, and her son-in-law Eric. She leaves behind a loving family, her mother Andrée Desmeules, her sisters Claude and Danielle Martel and her brother Benoît, as well as many cherished relatives and friends.
You are invited to come and celebrate Johanne's life on January 19, 2025 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Urgel Bourgie / Athos Funeral Complex in Lasalle (1275 Dollard Avenue, Lasalle, Quebec H8N 2J1). A memorial service will be held that same day at 4 p.m. in the complex chapel and a snack will be served at 5 p.m.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the healthcare staff at the Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke (CHUS), who provided Johanne with indispensable, attentive care in the oncology and palliative care units, and while she was battling Guillain-Barré syndrome a few years ago. A special thank you to the staff at the Centre de réadaptation de l'Estrie (CRE) in Sherbrooke who contributed so positively to her journey into remission.
