Pearl Abraham

It is with immeasurable sadness that we announce the passing of Pearl Abraham (née Beauchamp) on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024 at the age of 94. She was a loving wife to the late Michel Abraham, and beloved mother of Ferris (Celyne), the late Peter (Pippa), and Donald (Carol). She was a devoted grandmother to Jessica (Derrick), Lisa, Stephanie (Bryan), Michael, Brandon (Cinzia), and David, and great-grandmother to Alexia, Jacob, Tristan, Zachary, Luca, and Giacomo. She was the cherished sister of Camy, Margaret (the late Dan), the late Frank, Noella, and Norman (Liette). She also leaves behind many friends and extended family.

Pearl dedicated her life to helping others from a young age. When her father passed away when she was only 10 years old, she sacrificed much of her youth to help her mother take care of her younger siblings. This desire to take care of others followed her through her long and loving relationship with her husband of 64 years, for whom she made their house a home, raising three boys and taking care of her in-laws at the same time. She seized every opportunity she had to dote upon her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pearl truly was the matriarch of the Abraham family, and her fierce strength, humility, and unwavering commitment to family inspired everyone around her.

Pearl’s generosity extended far beyond her immediate family, as her community was of utmost importance to her. Within St. George’s Antiochian Orthodox Church, she was a stalwart member of the choir and of the Ladies’ Auxiliary. She worked tirelessly in her contributions to St. Barbara’s bake sale (she was an excellent cook) and more besides.

With her bright smile and warm personality, Pearl made anyone feel welcome in her presence. There was simply an aura about her that compelled others to rally around her, even if they didn’t know her. Her kindness instantly charmed anyone she met, including her doctors, nurses, and her caregiver (Maricel) who could not believe that even during her last few days she would apologize for giving them trouble.

She spent her final moments with her sons and daughters-in-law by her side, at peace knowing she had lived a full and wondrous life.
