Gilles Legault
Gilles Legault, 86, passed away in Laval on October 27.
In addition to his wife of 30 years, Marcelle Brault, he is survived by his wife's son, Christian Cloutier (Barbara Lang), his wife's daughter, Caroline Cloutier (Sam Georges), and their much-loved children, Jessica, Kevin, Sarah-Maude and Anaïs. He is also survived by his niece and goddaughter, Nathalie Legault (Serge Canuel), his nephew Stéphane Legault and their children, Gabrielle St-Pierre, Zoé Legault and Katia Canuel, as well as many friends and neighbors. He joins his father Arthur, gone much too soon, his mother Gilberte Sabourin, his brother Guy and his sister Agathe.
A firefighter for more than 26 years, he wore the uniform with courage and pride while becoming an outstanding businessman, as he liked to say, despite arriving in Montreal at the age of 14 with only a streetcar ticket in his pocket!?
A nature lover, globetrotter and avid skier, he travelled Europe's greatest mountains with friends and family. We have some wonderful memories
He had a gift for taking an interest in everything and for forging bonds with anyone and everyone. Despite many hardships, he loved life and saw the sun behind every cloud! As he used to say: we'll cross the river when we get to the bridge!
The family awaits you, at your convenience, at the Urgel Bourgie Salon, 6700 Beaubien Street East, Montreal, on Thursday, December 5. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m., followed by a church service at 5 p.m. and a buffet from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, if you feel so inclined, we invite you to make a donation to La Maison de la Sérénité (where angels accompanied Gilles on his final journey) at the address below (a donation box will also be available at the salon) or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
