Peter McEntee

McEntee, Peter

Passed away on September 21, 2024.

It is with deep and profound sorrow, we announce the very sad passing of our beloved Father and Husband, Peter McEntee.

Native of Dundalk, Co. Louth, Ireland. Beloved loving Son, of the late Brigid O’Rourke and Owen McEntee. Beloved loving Husband, of the late Catherine “Kitty” (nee Maguire), Beloved loving Brother, of the late, Molly, Anna, Michael, Harry, Patrick, Tony, and Andrew McEntee. Beloved loving Father of Ann, Owen (Kim), and Grandfather to Peter. Beloved Uncle, to many Nieces and Nephews in Canada, Ireland, USA and the UK. Dearly missed by many cherished friends in Canada and Ireland.

Peter was an admired and much respected member of the Irish Community in Montreal, a tireless and dedicated worker for many years in both Ireland and Canada. His heartfelt work on the Farm in Ireland was a great source of joy and inspiration to him,as was his family and Irish heritage. Truly a man of the land, and a celebrated Ploughing Champion.

We will miss you terribly, our beloved Dad, your inimitable presence, love, wisdom, charm, beautiful Irish accent, Irish Tenor singing voice, a brilliant storyteller, always dapper and the sharpest of dressers.

Music and singing brought him immense joy, as it did to those of whom were graced with his beautiful renditions of traditional Irish songs.

A man of God, prayer, and going to Mass, was of most importance, he prayed the Rosary daily. A fine Irish gentleman, truly a man you don’t meet everyday.

You are now reunited with the love of your life, your beloved Wife, Kitty, our beloved Mother, your world and your everything, and all our beloved family and friends in Heaven.

May God guard and keep you and St. Patrick hold you in the palm of His hand. God rest your souls. We will all meet again, one day, in that beautiful Irish meadow in Heaven. With all our love, tears, thoughts and prayers. Forever in our hearts.

“Through a field of Irish wheat, Had I the chance to wander back, Or own a King’s abode, I’d sooner see the Hawthorn Tree, And the Old Bog Road. So, God be with you, Ireland, And the Old Bog Road “
-The Old Bog Road
