Cecilia James
Cecilia James, born in the Kalinago territory on 10th may 1950, previously residing in Bath estate, passed away on the 31st of August 2024 in Montreal Canada.
She leaves behind her four children Lewison Charles, Eddrige James Berridge, Samantha Berridge and Avril Berridge, her sister Celestine Viville and her twin brother Peter James. In addition, she leaves behind her grandchildren Jason Shillingford, Samara Dominique, Daryl Dominique, Melissa Shillingford, Damian Bellot, Danelle James, Anton Solomon, Denzel Bastien, Jahkheem Polydore, Elridge Boysie James, Sharisma Williams St. Jean Antonio Chilcott, Nolan Solomon, Joy Chilcott, Chelsea Chilcott, Romany Solomon, Romaline Solomon Colleen Berridge, Tamasha Berridge and her great-grandchildren Malachi Dominique, Isaiah Dominique, Jaysilia Shillingford, Kaylin Solomon, Amez Solomon, Eldinho James, Mickelle Eusebe k'sani Isles, Cierra Fontaine, Caizan Fontaine, Eldridge James and Cadeaun Fontaine.
She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces in the Kalinago territory and abroad including Edgar Berridge, Barrington Berridge, Patricia Cuffy, Philimon Valmond and Malissar Frederick Semper. As well as the Hypolite family from Bath Estate Laurel, Avril, Juliette and Charlie, friend and benefactor Mr. Gary Aird and numerous friends and relatives from the Kalinago territory, Bath estate and Glover Lane. Her husband Otis Baptiste and his family in Canada and Antigua.
The family will receive condolences on September 28, 2024, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Urgel Bourgie/Athos Funeral Complex located at 1275 avenue Dollard, LaSalle, QC H8N 2J1. A mass will be held in her honour in the chapel of the complex on the same day from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
