Lucia Vicic
Information
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lucia Vicic, on August 24, 2024, at the age of 77.
Lucia was the cherished daughter of the late Ivan Vicic and Freida Schaller, and the beloved sister of the late Leonora Vicic. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 54 years, John Sapatis, her loving brother, Yvan Vicic (Grace), her children, Lisa (Tony) and Stephan (Chrissy), and her adored grandchildren, Sophia, Alexia, and Philip. Lucia is also fondly remembered by her cherished nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Born on September 20, 1946, in Admont, Austria, Lucia was a beloved wife, mother,
grandmother, sister, and friend. She was multi-talented, fluent in 6 languages, a strong, energetic, independent woman, someone whose strength seemed invincible to us. She was our protector, our cheerleader, and someone who always gave us unconditional love.
A hairdresser by profession, she was an incredibly hardworking person and entrepreneur.
She owned and operated her own business, Salon Claude & Michel for over two decades.
Her talents however, extended far beyond hairdressing. These included roofing, plumbing, gardening, and being an all round handy man. From crafting Halloween costumes to dance attire, or solving everyday challenges, Lucia’s ingenuity and creativity were limitless.
For those who did not know, she was also a photographer extraordinaire. Through the eyes of her lens, she meticulously captured memories and created masterful albums to share with family and friends. Her generosity and selflessness were the cornerstones of her life. She was a caretaker by nature and cared deeply for her family, always putting their needs before her own. She provided food and clothing to those less fortunate; friends and strangers alike.
One of her most cherished roles was being an adoring grandmother (Aka Grandma Lu Lu). She was a tireless supporter of her children and grandchildren helping with countless school pickups and drop-offs, babysitting, and volunteering.
She will be greatly missed by family and friends. May she rest in eternal peace, and forever live in our hearts.
Condolences will be received by family on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 5-9pm at Urgel Bourgie, 1255 Ave Beaumont, Mont Royal, Quebec. A commemorative service will be held between 8-9pm.
