Giselda Fernandes
Giselda Fernandes Da Conceição passed away peacefully at her home on March 7, 2024.
She was born on September 28, 1944, in Madeira, Portugal and imigrated to Canada on March 7, 1967. She lived in Canada for exactly 57 years to the day! During that time, she raised two boys, took care of her mother, and held her family together while battling various medical issues throughout her lifetime. To say she was a fighter is an understatement. She loved her family more than anything and is survived by her husband, Jose Orlando Da Conceição, two sons (Renato and Rick), three grandchildren (Felicia, Nathan, Theodore and their mother Patricia Forde), a daughter-in-law (Elena Petrevska), and a large extended family that includes sisters, Teresa and Isabel and their respective families. It would be amiss not to mention her beloved cats (Summer, Lola, Bella, and Keanu).
The family will hold a memorial service for Giselda on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 10h30am at St. John Brébeuf parish in La Salle, located at 7777 George Street.
Those who wish to pay their respects may attend the public viewing on Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 7 PM to 9 PM at URGEL BOURGIE, LASALLE FUNERAL COMPLEX, 1275, Avenue Dollard. There is also a private viewing earlier in the day for family and close friends from 2PM to 5 PM.
