Marietta Forte Barone, on March 4, surrounded by the endless love and comfort of her family, passed away very peacefully in this, the 87 years of her long and extraordinary life.

She was the cherished and beloved wife of Mario Barone, and together, the couple became veritable pillars of their community in Montreal and exemplary ambassadors to their Italian heritage since their arrived and very humble beginnings as immigrants from their native Italy, in the early 1950s.

A wholly devoted mother, she leaves behind her 5 children eternally grateful for the exceptional mother that blessed their lives every single day: Italo (Mirna Falcone), Silvana, Marinella, Adriana (Paolo Pizzuto), and Mauro (Nathalie Couillard). Marietta was of course «la Nonna» and loving grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Marietta's home and gardens were filled with flowers.

The family will receive condolences at the Urgel Bourgie funeral home, 6700 Beaubien Street E., Montreal, March 12 between 5 P.M. and 9 P.M.

A mass will be held in Madonna della Difesa church o March 13 at 10A.M.
