Bruce Shadeed

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Bruce Shadeed, a devoted husband, family man, entrepreneur and philanthropist whose generosity and love of life inspired us to lead with kindness.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Suzanne, his children Michael (Carole), Nicholas (Vanessa) and Alexander (Camille), his sister Maureen (Nehman), his brother Gerry (Bente), sister-in-law Hélène (Marc), brothers-in-law Jacques (Suzanne) and Robert (Marisa), grandchildren Emma, William and Evelyne, and his many nieces and nephews. Bruce is now reunited with his parents, Ramsay and Virginia.

Bruce was the proud CEO of Travelway Group International, a multi-generational family business. He was equally dedicated to making a difference in his community; he served as President of Cedars Cancer Foundation and Cedars Home for the Elderly as well as an MUHC Board Member for many years. He was also a lover of sailing, travelling the world and hosting his cherished friends and family.

The family would like to thank the Cedars Cancer Centre, Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital, the Jewish General Hospital, and all the doctors, nurses and caregivers (Gigi and Jonna) for their exceptional support.

The visitation will be held at Urgel Bourgie on 1255 Beaumont in Mount Royal on Thursday, February 29th from 2:00pm-5:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm. The funeral service will be held at Saint-Sauveur Cathedral on 10025 Boul. De l'Acadie in Montreal on Friday, March 1st from 10:00am-11:00am, followed by the burial at Mount Royal Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask for donations to the Cedars Cancer Foundation, Cedars Home for the Elderly, and the St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church.
