Thomas Kirby
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Thomas Kirby on the morning of November 28th 2023 in Montreal, where he quietly and unexpectedly, surrounded by close family, passed at the age of 81.
Survived by his loving wife of 61 years Faye (Marsten) Kirby, he leaves behind his children Caroline, Colleen, and James (deceased); his grandchildren Matthew (Allison), Kayleigh (Evan), Kristofer, Brittany (Tyrell), Nicholas (Vince), and Brendan; and his 13 great-grandchildren Jayden, Kloey, Quintyn, Delilah, Rylie, Taaliyah, Taylor, Arria, Amya, James, Theodore, Thomas, and Ethan.
Thomas was born on May 23rd 1942 in Montreal. At only 16 years old he found the love of his life, Faye, at which 4 years later they married on July 14th 1962, and have been inseparable ever since. He built and grew his very own customs brokerage and freight forwarding company, Markir International, until his retirement. With his love and desire to travel, he was able to visit many parts of the world including several islands in the Caribbean, Ireland, Greece, several states in the US, and all across Canada.
Thomas will always be remembered as a wonderful husband, and an amazing father. He was a kind, generous, and giving human being. He was always willing to go the extra mile for his family and his friends. He was funny and the life of the party. He had a keen sense of humor. He could always make you laugh, and bring up your spirits even in the darkest of times.
Thomas will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
