Vassiliki Thanassoulis
It is with great sadness that the family of Vassiliki “Vasso” Thanassoulis announces her passing, from complications following a stroke. She died peacefully at Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur in Cartierville on October 30, 2023, at the age of 91.
Vassiliki will be lovingly remembered by her son Tony Asimakopoulos and her brother Periclis (Olga), her brother-in-law John (Hariklia), cousins, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and her many friends in Canada, the US and Greece. She was the widow of the late Aristomenis Assimakopoulos, who passed in 2011.
Visitation will be held on Nov.9 from 3pm to 9pm at: 1255 Beaumont Avenue, TMR. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Nov.10 at 10am at the Archangels Michael and Gabriel Greek Orthodox Church (often known as St.Michael's), 11801 ave Elie-Blanchard, Montreal. Interment will follow at the St. Laurent cemetery, 805 St-Croix, Saint-Laurent.
Her son Tony requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Vassiliki be made to The Alzheimer's Society of Montreal, for all their support in the last 3 years of her life as she struggled with Lewy Body Dementia. She will be dearly missed.
