Judy Hardy (née Cunningham)

On Friday September 1st, 2023, Judith Cunningham Hardy passed away peacefully while holding the hands of her daughter, Christine and her son, David. Judy will be dearly missed by her children, David (Zoraya Sanchez de la Vega Cayero) and Christine (Tim Morgan), her daughter-in-law, Julia Nisbet and her brothers Vernon, Michael, Paul and Ronald Cunningham. Judy is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, John Hardy (2022) and her son, Kevin Hardy (2021).

Grandma will be forever loved and missed by Mathew and Benjamin Hardy of Plano Texas, Evan and Christopher Hardy of Saint-Lazare Quebec, and Lucie and Amelia Morgan of Ottawa Ontario.

Judy had a rich, full life, which began in Halifax in 1943. She came to Montreal with her parents (Lucie and Vernon Cunningham) and her four brothers. She began her 60-year relationship with John at Father Macdonald High School in Ville St. Laurent. Judy had a successful career as a Translator, often working late nights and early mornings so she could always prioritize family.
Judy and John were inseparable. Their love for their family, for their friends and for each other was admired and cherished. Together they were a force. Together, they cared for many friends and family members into their final years.
Judy had a thoughtful, generous heart. She often knew what you needed before you did, and she quietly took care of it. She was a blessing to all who knew her - a ray of sunshine. She was surrounded and supported by so many wonderful friends throughout her life.

Our warmest thanks to the staff at Résidence St. Anne de Bellevue, the Glen’s 8th floor, and the MAID team for the exceptional care and compassion she received. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your preferred cancer-related charity.

Judy’s family will receive her friends and family at Urgel Bourgie Funeral home, 3955 Côte de Liesse Saint-Laurent, on November 18th, 2023 from 10am to noon, followed by refreshments. The service will begin at 11am. To join the ceremony virtually, please visit urgelbourgie.com, Obituaries, Judy Cunningham.
