Brother Jean-Marc Cantin, of the Christian Brothers community, passed away at De La Salle Residence on September 7, 2023, at the age of 85 years and 6 months. Son of Émile Cantin and Eugénie Rochefort, he was born in Timmins, Ontario, on March 5, 1938. He joined the F.E.C. in 1965, teaching in Ottawa and Cobourg. He then worked as General Secretary of the Ontario Teachers' Federation in Toronto, then in Ottawa. He was provincial superior of the F.É.C. in Ottawa, then secretary to Brother Superior General in Rome. On his return home, he was director of the Brothers' retirement home in Quebec City.

He is survived by members of his religious family and many friends.

Funeral on Tuesday, September 19, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of :

De La Salle Residence
300, ch. du Bord-de-l'Eau, Laval.
Reception at 9 a.m. at the chapel, where her remains will be laid to rest.
Interment of ashes will follow at Notre-Dame Cemetery, Lot des Frères, Ottawa.
