It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Richard Thornhill who died peacefully in his sleep on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 1:10p.m. He was 88 years old.

George was born on the Caribbean island of Montserrat on May 16, 1935 and migrated to England and then to Canada where he spent the rest of his life. He was the husband of the late Genevieve Brown.

George was a faithful member of St George's Anglican Church for over 40 years and was assigned "Captain of the Greeters."
He leaves to mourn his dear friend and partner Liz "Ellen" Sweeney, his brothers Winston Thornhill, John Thornhill and Junior Allen, his sisters Anne Thornhill, Henrietta "Lucy" Boatswain, Maria "Nanny" Baron, Claudina "Kate" Allen and Vanester Allen-Pollidore. He also leaves to mourn his many nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends too numerous to mention. He was well appreciated by everyone he met and will be greatly missed.

His life celebration (Visitation and Church Service) will be held at St George's Anglican Church (Place du Canada), 1101 Stanley Street, Montreal, H3B 2S6 on Tuesday June 6, 2023. The visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am followed by the service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Interment will be at the Jardins Urgel Bourgie Rive-Sud, 8145 Chemin de Chambly, St Hubert, Quebec, J3Y 5K2.
