Born on June 14, 1944, in Montreal, Quebec, Gilles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.

Gilles is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Lucie Daviault. Together, they shared a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He will be deeply missed by his children, Lisa Rousseau (Kevin Wyllie), David Rousseau, Angela Rousseau-Perera and step-daughter Isabelle Plamondon. Gilles was a proud grandfather to Anna, Anton, Bram, Colin, Step Grandchildren Hailey and Caitlin.

Throughout his life, Gilles was a life long learner and self made man. He taught his children to always be curious, open minded and to be self sufficient. He loved cycling with his wife Lucie and a good Coors light beer. He also taught himself to paint and considered himself an admirer of art and it’s many different styles. He was outgoing and could talk to any stranger wherever he went and enjoyed thought provoking conversations with his friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Gilles. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in May to honour Gilles.

The family will receive condolences Friday May 19 from 10 AM to 12 PM, at the Urgel Bourgie Funeral Home, located at 1559 Rue de Montarville, Saint-Bruno, Quebec. A celebration of his life will take place at the same location at 12 PM, to pay tribute to Gilles.
