Alain Brunelle
It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alain Brunelle, on March 1, 2022 at the age of 74.
He was the son of late Jeannette Rivest and late Maurice Brunelle.
Beyond his wife Denise Leduc, his daughters Daphné (Gabriel Obadia) and Magali (Jared Keeso), he leaves behind his sister Arlette (Maurice), his sister-in-law Muriel, wife of his late brother Aimé, his brothers André (Maria) and Albert (Lise), his in-laws Betty and Maurice Leduc, his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Diane (Marcel), Pierre (Liane), Monique (Daniel), as well as many nephews, nieces, aunts and cousins.
Alain was an exceptional person. He was known for his benevolence and generosity. Devoted to his family, he was a wonderful husband and dad.
He will be missed by his good friends – Normand, who thought of him as a brother, and the other “potes”, Normand, Maurice and Mario. He will also be missed by his long-time friend Jacques and by Gilles, nicknamed the “Admiral”, with whom he shared the helm of a few sailboats.
During a beautiful career of over 32 years with the Montreal police force, he has made numerous friends and was known for his kindness and care for a job well done. He had also spent 17 years working as a private investigator to share his vast experience.
He took interest in many things, from sciences and astronomy to history. He was curious and had an avid need to learn and discover. He was intelligent and ingenious and always found a solution to every problem.
He was happy and would have liked to stay on his path for longer, but illness has decided otherwise. He was brave, strong and resilient while supported by his family and loyal friends on whom he has been able to rely.
The family wants to thank friends, the CHUM oncology personnel and the CLSC LaSalle palliative care team, especially Annie and Josée, who have made a comfortable end of life at home possible.
Instead of flowers, donations to the CHUM Foundation (fondationduchum.com/en) would be greatly appreciated.
The family will welcome family and friends at Salon Urgel Bourgie, 1275 Dollard Street, LaSalle H8N 2J1, on Sunday March 20, 2022 between 1pm and 5pm.
