Rocco Di Lillo

With a heavy heart, we bid adieu to Rocco Antonio Di Lillo on February 6, 2022, beloved husband of the late Luigia “Gina” Prioriello, loving and devoted father to Pasquale (Stefania), Marisa (Michael), Angela (Roly) and Patrizia (Chris), loved and admired by his grandchildren Korina (Alexandre), Evita (Arnaud), Britney, Luca, Catarina and Akasha, and his surviving sister Adoloratta and family members and friends he made during his wonderful life.

Rocco’s quick wit, openness, strength of character and work ethic made him well loved and admired by family, friends and acquaintances. His loving devotion to his wife and family demonstrated to the power and resilience of love. Every family dinner was a celebration with copious amounts of food and funny stories of his experiences as a boy in Italy and as a new immigrant to Canada, and always sprinkled with memorable Italian proverbs.

Rocco was born in Gildone, Italy, apprenticed as a tailor from the young age of twelve, and made the long journey to Canada at seventeen. After several years in Canada, he met the love of his life, Gina, and they spent over six decades together. Rocco was the steadfast, devoted partner, and Gina the social butterfly. Together they embarked on a love story that knew no bounds: they raised a family; built up a tailoring business; raised and cared for their grandchildren; took French classes together; played bocce and petanque weekly; actively participated in their community projects, attended almost every family and community function; traveled to Italy to reunite with the family and introduced their children and grandchildren to their birthplace; they traveled to sunny destinations to escape the winter and stayed close to home in the summers to tend to their garden growing bigger and better tomatoes and zucchinis with every passing year. Above all, Rocco took great pride in his grandchildren, basking in the joy that renewed his energy and the promise they hold to continue his legacy.

We will celebrate Rocco’s life at the Urgel Bourgie Athos funeral complex at 1255 avenue Beaumont, Mount Royal on Thursday, February 17, 2022 (2 PM to 5 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM) and on February 18, 2022 (10 AM to 12 PM).

The church services will be held on February 18, 2022, at 1 PM at Our Lady of Divine Love, located at 765 Rue Roland-Forget, Duvernay, Laval.

The entombment will follow at Urgel Bourgie, 2500 Ave des Perron, Laval.
