Gino Melatti
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Gino Melatti on January 3, 2022 in Montreal at the age of 83.
Beloved husband of 56 years to Lise Chalifoux, he leaves behind his loving children Mike (Isabelle), Dany (Theano), and Gino (Suzie); his adored grandchildren Gino, Lisa, Dany Jr., Alessia, Melina, and Julia; sisters, nieces, nephews, as well as many other relatives and friends from near and far.
Born in Italy, Gino set foot on Canadian ground in 1956 and started a small family business that has grown into the company it is today, known as Melatti Construction. He built thousands of units where people call home. To underline his important role in LaSalle, a street and a park were named after him.
His reputation transcends the construction industry however, his generosity towards numerous causes and his many communities will be recalled by so many. Gino, always jovial, adored his family and friends. He was a source of inspiration to many, always bringing people together. His infectious smile, laughter, and love will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all.
The family feels very grateful for the services rendered and the tender care given to their loved husband, father, and grandfather by La Maison L’Étincelle de Verdun.
In lieu of flowers, donations to la Maison des Soins palliatifs Sault St-Louis would be appreciated. https://www.maisonsaultsaintlouis.com/don
