It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Basil Nifakis on December 29, 2021 at the age of 77. He is survived by his sons, Byron and Alex, his sister Helen Neou, his grandchildren and nieces and was predeceased by his sister Andriana.

Vassili was a proud, kind and passionate man, always willing to lend a hand in anyway he could. He liked to reminisce about the old days, being a scout leader and working on submarine and airplane parts. Most of all he loved life, family and friends and, of course, dancing.

He was not one to dwell on what could have been or complain about what was, he took it in stride and as the saying goes made lemonade with the lemons. His attitude was exemplified of late, he did what he could, enjoyed the company of who cared and lived vicariously through Facebook.

Vassili was someone who could always see the bright side of any situation and in spite of his many struggles and hardships, had a smile on his face and a kind word to say. He will not be forgotten for how he made people feel when they were with him.

Thank you to the staff at Notre Dame des Anges (Grenet) for taking such good care of Vassili.

Due to current restrictions, there will not be a funeral service.

Celebration of life for friends and family will take place at a later date.
