Catherine Lloyd
Cathy passed away peacefully with her family by her side on October 23, 2021. Beloved husband Ted, mother to Carina (Daniel), Kimberli (Oli), Christopher (Mirela), Liana (Nick), grandchildren Mackenzie, Alex, Avery, Hailey and Annabel.
Daughter to Laurette Dube and Douglas Lloyd, Cathy grew up in NDG with her cousins Michael and Chris. She met her husband Ted while working at CIP.
Cathy proudly obtained her Bachelor’s of Art degree in Library Science (while mothering her 4 busy children). She went back to work and loved her time at the Pointe-Claire library. She and Ted enjoyed traveling and hosting many family gatherings. It wasn’t a family dinner without an animated discussion over how “Is the meat well done ?”.
Thankfully, Ted and his brother Alan introduced Cathy to camping which lead to annual trips to Sandbanks Provincial Park that are still a family tradition.
Cathy battled brain cancer for over two years. She was determined to meet her newest grandchild (Annabel) and passed away once she was sure everyone was safe and healthy.
Cathy loved spending time with her grandchildren, Mackenzie, Alex, Avery and Hailey. In 2021 Cathy was advised 2 new grandchildren were expected. On October 8th her 5th grandchild “Annabel” was born. Cathy gratefully held on to her, giving her gentle kisses and hugs and enjoying the beautiful scent of a newborn. The 6th Grandchild (daughter) is expected Jan 2022.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Thursday, October 28th, 2021 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm visitation at Urgel Bourgie 3955 Chem. de la Côte-de-Liesse, Saint-Laurent, QC H4N 2N6.
In lieu of flowers, donate in memory of Catherine Lloyd to Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence.
