It is with a very heavy heart and immense sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Socrates Christos Goulakos at 64 years young.
Beloved son of Christos and Connie Goulakos, loving husband of Julie, adored father of Constance & Joël, Christopher & Stephanie, and Spiro. Devoted grandfather to Georgia Stephanie, Wolf Socrates, Julia Rose, and Christopher Socrates Jr. Treasured brother of George & Jamie. Legendary uncle to Christa, Katina, Daniel & Marlo. Dedicated son-in-law to Angeline and Spiro Gavaris (deceased). Caring brother-in-law to Marietta & Sam. Brother-in-law to George Gavaris & family.
Soc had an unparalleled joie de vivre, enjoying nothing more than spending time with his family and countless friends from all walks of life.
He was selfless in his love and affection for his family and steadfast in his commitments to municipal, Hellenic and political causes. Soc touched many throughout his life and he will be greatly missed. He was proud of his Greek heritage and even prouder to call Montreal home.
The family will be receiving condolences Wednesday, September 1st from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm and Thursday, September 2nd from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm at Urgel Bourgie funeral home, 1255 Beaumont av. TMR.. The Wednesday viewing will be accessible at: https://www.urgelbourgie.com/fr/necrologie-avis-de-deces
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 3rd at 11 am at St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 2455 Cote St-Catherine in Outremont.
Out of respect to the elderly in attendance, only fully vaccinated visitors will be allowed.
