Munir Faraj Nakhleh

Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, Unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed and very dear.

Munir Nakhleh passed away peacefully with family by his side at home in Montreal on the 1st of July, 2021 at the age of 92. Born in Rameh, Palestine, Munir was the son of the late Faraj and Marie (nee Hajjar) Nakhleh. He will be missed by his beloved wife Mary (nee Khalaf). Munir was the much loved father of Walid (Samia Fanous), Shadia (late Elias Yammine), Nadia (Michel Dik), Wafa (Tony Gedeon) and Sana. Jedo will be missed by his eleven grandchildren, Joseph (Andie), Marie, Christeen (Jean-Paul), Christopher (Meichin), Munir, Zena, Elaina, George, Yasmin, Jacinta, Marc, and great-grandfather of Antoine and Lara. Munir is survived by his brother Awni (Wedad Lubbat) and his sister Salwa (late Fred Hajjar) and was predeceased by his brothers Muin (late Salma Nakhleh), Tawfic, Abouna Yusuf Nakhleh and his sisters Fahdeh (late Labib Sheiban) and Wedad (late Afif Nakhleh). He will be remembered fondly by his many nieces, nephews and their families.

He will be remembered for his love of family, God, and dedication to his work and his employees. Hard work, humility, honour, pride, sacrifice, thoughtfulness, generosity, and wisdom were key ingredients that made him into the man that everyone respected and loved. He was one that fought for the weak and the underprivileged.

His life was led by God’s words of:
Psalm 82:3-4
Vindicate the weak and fatherless;
Do justice to the afflicted and destitute.
Rescue the weak and needy;
Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.

His life was a blessing. His memory is a treasure. He is loved beyond words and he will be missed beyond measure.

The family will welcome relatives and friends directly at the Cathedrale St-Sauveur church, 10025 Boulevard de l'Acadie, Montréal, QC H4N 2S1, Monday July 5th, 2021 from 6 pm et 9 pm.

The funeral service will be held the next day, July 6th at noon, also at the Cathedrale St-Sauveur, followed by the burial at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges cemetery.
