George Morris
The beautiful and talented George Morris, 78, of Montreal, Quebec, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 14th, 2021 after years of cardiovascular challenges.
George was born on April 18th,1942 in Lublin, Poland during WWII. In search of a better life, his mother emigrated with him to Winnipeg towards the end of the war. As a teenager, George set off on a series of cross-Canada adventures, ultimately landing him in Montreal in the 1960s, where he established himself as one of Montreal’s top radio jockeys, Buddy G, “the big boss with the hot sauce” on CKGM 980 AM. His experience in radio launched a successful, lifelong career as a voice actor. He also founded Listen! Audio Productions, which in the 1970s and 1980s, was one of Canada’s leading multimedia production and recording studios.
He met the love of his life, his wife Susan Blanchard, in the early 1970s, and they stood by each other's side until his last breath. He is survived by his immediate family; sons Jesse of Montreal, Quebec (husband to Leesa and father to Riley Grace), Geoffrey of Sarnia, Ontario (husband to Melissa and father to Charlie and Violet) daughter Sarah-Jane of New York, NY and his siblings in British Columbia; Eva, Linda and Robin (as well as many beloved nieces and nephews).
George had a hilarious, kind, and larger than life personality. Our family has been overwhelmed by the touching stories of how George has impacted their lives. We encourage you to leave your memories of George here.
