Nicola Di Paolo
An extraordinary man was born on March 30th, 1934 in the province of Campobasso; a small town by the name of Guglionesi.
Nicola was a man of great honour and dignity. He lived his life with an unbridled passion, blessed with what his friends and family would call “mani d’oro”, hands of gold. In 1959, he came to Canada where his dream of a larger life was realized. Despite the challenges and struggles he went through as he cultivated his dream life, he persisted.
True to his entrepreneurial spirit, he founded Pavar Furniture in 1985, a legacy his children now carry on proudly. In tribute to his humble beginnings, Nicola’s leadership and well-respected persona was honored when he was elected as president of the Guglionesi Association of Montreal. He was a man that wore his heart on his sleeve and not a soul could dim his light. He was the love of Liliana Di Paolo’s life; his admiration for her was unparalleled. Their love was and will always remain a love story that is found in the rarest of lifetimes.
For someone blessed with so many talents, his greatest joy came from teaching and sharing his craft with others.
Nicola will be missed dearly by his wife Liliana Di Paolo, his sister Costanza Colonna, his children Louis, Maria-Pina, Michael (Maria), and his beloved grandchildren Sofia, Sara, Liana, Lisa, Tatiana, Mickaela, Louie, Vanessa and Nico.
He will also be missed by his many friends, and family both in Canada, and in Italy.
A funeral will be celebrated in the privacy of the immediate family, on Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. followed by a mass at 2:00 p.m. The family has made this celebration available, which can be viewed by clicking on ritual recording above this obituary.
