Patricia Cartwright (née Adams)

Patricia Ann Adams, née Cartwright, passed away peacefully and readily on February 6th, 2021 16 months after being diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, a highly aggressive form of brain cancer. As with all of life’s challenges, Pat faced her cancer diagnosis with calm calculation and optimism. After educating herself on the benefits of medicinal cannabis, she opted not to pursue the traditional protocol of combined radiation and chemotherapy. She subsequently lived a healthy, full and vibrant life until the two months leading up to her death, when she began to lose her mobility.

Pat loved to travel, and visited countless countries, often with her best friend Diane Birch (1947 – 2019), with whom she also shared a love of theatre, making their annual pilgrimage to the Stratford Shakespeare festival for over 20 years.

Pat was a brilliant entrepreneur with uncanny business acumen; a wonderfully supportive and loving mother to her two children Andrew and Elizabeth; and a devoted wife to Hugh Adams (1944 – 2008) for 37 years. She chose to return to the arms of her beloved Hugh on what would have been their 50th wedding anniversary, February 6, 2021.

Pat is survived by her two children Andrew and Elizabeth (James), beloved grandsons Ozmond and Xaka, siblings Pamela, Robert (Janet) and Chris (Gloria) Cartwright, and the company she co-founded, Transco Food Trading.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held on Friday, February 12th at 4:30pm, due to government restrictions regarding Covid only 25 people in total can attend. A webcast funeral ceremony will be held online at:
