Shirley Durant (née Elaine)
September 6th 1933 - October 8th 2020
It is with great sadness to share that Shirley passed away at the age of 87, peacefully at home on Thursday, October 8th 2020. She is survived by her devoted husband Marcus of 64 beautiful years. Shirley was a beloved mother to Marcella-Lynne (Carl) and Sheryl. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren.
Shirley was a woman of faith, she lived every day with joy and passion. Her loving, gracious spirit and incredible generosity touched the hearts of so many. Her wonderful sense of humour and infectious laugh will forever be remembered. Shirley will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
A heartfelt thank you to the many devoted family members for their unwavering support and assistance. The family would like to thank Dr. Magdy Zoghby and Kathleen Gale for their dedication, as well as the doctors and medical team of C9 at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Premier Home Care and the LaSalle CLSC care team.
A private funeral and graveside service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Rev. Dr. Charles Este Scholarship Fund, Union United Church.
