Giovanni Quattrociocchi
It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the loss of our beloved Giovanni Quattrociocchi, who passed away in Montreal on May 1, 2020. Giovanni was born in Frosinone, Italy on July 29, 1938. He was the loving husband to Maria Antonia "Tonia" Di Giacomo, devoted father to Adriana Quattrociocchi and adoring "Nonno" to Ivana Cescutti and Giordano Cescutti. He is also mourned by his brother Antonio "Tony" Quattrociocchi, as well as his extended family and friends in Canada, Italy and the U.S.
Giovanni was a beautiful soul with a heart of gold and a gentleman to all. He arrived in Canada in 1960 with little to his name but an extraordinary work ethic. He worked countless hours while also going to McGill University at night to learn a new language in order to create a better future for his family. He was an avid runner, enjoyed watching soccer and F1 races, playing cards, reading the Montreal Gazette daily, and travelling, especially when it meant going back to his hometown in Italy. He retired with great recognition in 2003 as Operations Director for Quebec and the Atlantic provinces for Royal Plastics Group. He was an elegant man who lived an exemplary life with gratitude and was truly loved and admired by all who knew him. His contagious smile and overflowing kindness will be sorely missed.
Giovanni’s final resting place will be at Le Repos Saint-François d’Assise. Given the current circumstances, a memorial service honouring him and celebrating his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Montreal at https://www.imakeanonlinedonation.org/socalzh/DIM/ in Giovanni's memory.
Rest in peace, Nonno. We will love you forever.
