Mary Dowhan (nee Karpluk)
Our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary Dowhan (nee Karpluk), died peacefully at the Grace Dart Extended Care Centre on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at the age of 96. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael Dowhan (Dido) (2006), she is now reunited with him. Lovingly remembered by her four children Nick, Melanie (Gord), Mary Ann (Leo) and Michael (Sue).
She will also be fondly remembered as Baba by her five grandchildren Chris, Alexa (Lukasz), Greg (Elsbeth), Tony and Kati, and her two great-grandsons Carter and Greyson. Also left to mourn are her two sisters Stella Krushelnyski and Alice Canuga.
She lived a fulfilling life focussed on family, and spent her later years as an energetic and selfless volunteer at LaSalle General Hospital.
Thank you to the staff of CH2 at Grace Dart for their care, compassion and support during an especially difficult time at long term care homes, with special thanks to Fatima.
A celebration of her life with family will be held at a later date.
