Michel André Lagalisse

We sadly announce the passing of Michel Lagalisse AKA "Michy" at Résidence Yvon-Brunet, where he contracted Covid-19.

Born in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, England, Michel came of age in Crawford Park, attended Verdun Catholic High School and Concordia University, and later resided in Montreal, Ste. Beatrix and Oran, Algeria. Michel was a master builder, photographer, dancer, chef and artist, as well as project manager extraordinaire - preferably grand scale. With charisma and creative vision he inspired and entertained the many people he met, and left his mark of excellence everywhere he worked.

Friends gathered to become his neighbours in Ste Beatrix, where his well-executed parties and stonework helped build the unique Domain cherished by him and others in the Gang. Michel enjoyed fabulous meals, fine drink, dressing sharp, working hard, playing harder, and remains highly approved for his adventurous spirit, irreverence and zest for life. He often challenged authority, and surely has some strong words for whoever's in charge at the CSHLD. He is missed by his children Christopher, Erica and Julian Lagalisse, his mother June Lagalisse, his siblings Pierre and Janine, his cousin Darren and aunt Colleen, his nieces Erin and Andrea, his recent partner Dalila Alloula, his lifelong friend Gerry Nolan, his first wife Rosemary McCulloch, and friends beyond. He was preceded in passing by his longtime companion and friend Micheline "Mickey" Bonneau.

A celebration of life will take place later this year at Urgel Bourgie funeral home; please contact Gerry Nolan ([email protected]) for upcoming details.
