Margot Shatilla
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Margot Shatilla, beloved wife of the late Edward C. Shatilla. Known to her family as Mom, Nanny, Tayta and Super Nanny, she was known by everyone else that knew her simply as Margot.
She was predeceased by her husband Edward C. Shatilla, her brothers Eddie (Simone), Albert (Joyce) and Emile (Lucy), her sisters Gloria (Albert Dabous) and Katie and her grandson Christopher (Christina Marchant). She is survived by her sons Robert (Joan Clarkin), Andrew (Grace Confortati), and Eric (Candi Boroff) as well as five grandchildren Kimberley (Jon Dunski), David (Jennifer Teufel), Stephanie (Robin Copp), Jennifer (Jason Wooden), and Richard (Bonnie King) and her great grandchildren Colby ,Ariana, Austin, Mason, Keira, Jake, Lexi, Tori, Lauren, Gavin, Chloe, Evan, Jacob, Scott, Matt, Bianca, and Brody. She will also be missed by her sister in law Virginia Shatilla, Elaine and Sylvan Schneider, Wade and Lisa Boroff as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Margot enjoyed a long and wonderful life nurturing and loving her sons and their wives as well as inspiring her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She loved life and people and her life long friends including her bridge and tranka friends.
Born in Montreal on March 15th, 1921 to Salim Boosamra and Amelia Aboud, she attended Strathcona Academy, The Montreal High School for Girls and The Motherhouse School. The ultimate hostess, she and her beloved Eddie were known for their hospitality and love for their friends and family.
Margot was a vibrant member and past president of The Lebanese Syrian Canadian Ladies Aid Society for which she devoted countless hours over the seventy five years that she was a member and where her compassion for the needy never faltered. She also served on the board of The Cedars Home for the Elderly where she was a Life Governor and received le certificate de Merite from the Assemblee Nationale de Quebec.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to The Lebanese Syrian Canadian Ladies Aid Society, 571 Boul. Lebeau suite 3280, Montreal, Qc. H4N 1S2 or to the charity of your choice.
Visitation will be held at the Urgel Bourgie/Athos Funeral Complex, 1255, Avenue Beaumont, Mont-Royal QC, H3P 2H2
on Monday August 5, 2019 from 2pm to 5pm and from 7pm to 9pm.
On Tuesday August 6, 2019 the Family will receive condolences between 9 and 10am at Saint Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church, 80 rue de Castelneau E. Montreal QC H2R 1P2.
Immediately after, a funeral service will be held and subsequently the burial at Mount-Royal Cemetery.
