Harry William Jones
Passed away Saturday April 27, 2019, at Montreal General Hospital, at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Eileen Digby; step father to Bruce (Maureen), Edward (Sheila) and Maureen (Bob), brother of the late Dorothy Hoffman and of Madge Simard (93) and Walter Jones (91) and son of the late Walter Jones Sr. and Florence Jones nee Reeve.
Harry will be remembered for his determined accomplishments, including building a cottage, dealing with the closure of Marconi Television mid-way through his career as an Accountant; and for the time he always had for family and friends. Harry was intellectually curious and always shared interesting conversation. In recent years, he became a self-taught expert on the computer and enjoyed cruising around shops and the boardwalk area on his scooter. His only flaw was his relentless support for the Montreal Canadiens!
Harry was admitted to St-Joseph's hospital in March, with a severe shortness of breath relating to a known condition with his heart. He was transferred to Montreal General as complications developed. During his final days, he was comforted with visits from his step son Bruce, his brother Walter, nephew Derrick and niece Marilyn. He will be missed by his family, his friends at 300 Place Des Brises in Lachine.
The family will receive condolences at Urgel Bourgie Funeral complex: 1750 rue Notre-Dame, Lachine, on Saturday May 4 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM followed by Liturgy of the Word and thence to the Rideau Memorial Garden Cemetary, Dollard-des-Ormeaux.
