Claire (Ruscica) Zentner
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Claire Zentner (born Clara Ruscica), beloved wife of the late Edwin Zentner, on December 22, 2018 at the age of 84.
Devoted Mom to her children Cathy (Tony Mancinone), Caroline (Bill Barrett), Arthur (Cathy Regan) and Lisa (Nicolas Morin), cherished Nana to her grandchildren Nathan, Joshua, Rebecca, Emmett, Matthew, Ian, Aidan, Emily, and loving sister to Dora, Arthur and the late Anne.
She was instantly endeared by all who were lucky enough to cross her path with her smiling face, easy laugh, and gentle demeanor. She was a sweet, kind and generous person who gave her life to her family and shared her talents with her friends. As a genuine Sicilian mama, she always had homemade pasta sauce and meatballs, or cake, squares or fudge at the ready to spontaneously feed family, friends, or strangers with a little love and sweetness, and help put a smile on their face.
Her deep belief and unquestioning faith in God led her to become a graduate of The Montreal School of Theology. She was a long-time member of her Saint-Bruno community and a founding parishioner at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church.
Lover of life with a tireless energy, spirited soul, and a sense of adventure, she adored travelling, relished spending time with her kids and her grandkids, and was admired by all for her keen fashion sense. She loved cooking, baking and entertaining, was invigorated by the ocean and the warmth of the sun, enjoyed eating ‘chips’ or having a nightcap, and could often be found dancing free-spiritedly or singing wholeheartedly to her most favorite songs.
She will always be a source of admiration and inspiration, and her legacy of unconditional love and family unity that she cultivated throughout her years will continue to bloom and flourish, and will forever be cherished.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (heartandstroke.ca) or Dress For Success Montreal (montreal.dressforsuccess.org).
Please join us in celebrating her incredible life.
