Odette Handal
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Odette Handal, (nee Wadad Artemis), on January 31, 2018, at the age of 85, surrounded by her family.
Devoted wife of Elie Handal and cherished mother of Dominic (wife Assunta), Christine (husband Drew), Veronique (husband Kevin) and Frederick (wife France) and predeceased by daughter Caroline (1966); beloved grandmother (Teta) of Christopher (wife Joss), Matthew (wife Stefanie), Justin, Mitchell, Katrina, Jessica, Samantha, Gabrielle, Thomas, Riley and Griffin; and proud great-grandmother of Milo Skoda. Born in Latakia, Syria, she grew up in Lebanon, married and then came to Canada to raise her family. She was the rock of our family. Her warm and loving spirit carried her through life and endeared her to everyone she met. She will also be deeply missed by her family in Montreal, Quebec and in Beirut, Lebanon and by her many friends.
The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, February 6th, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Urgel Bourgie Beaumont, 1255 Beaumont, TMR, followed by a service in the Complex Chapel at 6 p.m.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff and residents at the Centre d'hébergement de St-Margaret for their wonderful support, care and compassion for Mom.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Jewish General Hospital (Cardiovascular Unit) would be appreciated.
