Stanley Weisnagel

It is with deep sadness that we announce that on Febuary 22nd, in Saint-Laurent, our dear dad Stanley Weisnagel passed away at the age of 89. He leaves behind his cherished wife of 61 years, Betty Repasky, his children Stephen, Nancy, Carolyn (Bill Goodwin), Dr. S. John (Dr. Josée Perreault) and Sandy, his eight grandchildren (Ryan, Samantha, Nathaniel, Caitlyn, Rachel, Marianne, Elisabeth, and Louis), his brother Dr. John (Stella Hreha). He was predeceased by brothers Joseph and Frank and sisters Mary (Imrich Bleho) and Ann (Heinz Schuler).

A long-time resident of Saint-Laurent, his youth was filled with a passionate interest in sports and local affairs of the town. He trained as a furrier, and started a business, Stanley Furs, which he tried with all of his heart to make into a success. But life chose otherwise, and so, as a young father with a growing family, he picked himself up and redirected his efforts first to managing a motel during that magical centennial year of Expo 67, and finally by finding a supervisory position with Robertson Building Services, a great commercial maintenance company. All along the way, he remained an eternal optimist and fun-loving dad and grandpa with a great sense of humour. He loved life and shared his joyfulness with everyone. He adored his Canadiens, Expos, Alouettes and Tiger Woods. We all miss him terribly.

Each evening at 8:30 p.m. and in a short tribute celebrating his life, we will welcome any sharing of your fond memories and stories about dad.
