Ilias Karabatsos
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Ilias Karabatsos on Thursday, July 28 2016, after a courageous battle with Parkinsons. Born on January 17, 1931, in Homatada, Messinias, Greece.
He is survived by his devoted wife Vasiliki (Markopoulos) of 56 years and his cherished daughter Christina (Gerry). He was a loving pappou to Christopher, Allyssa and Thomas.
He will be dearly missed by his three sisters, Georgia (Spiros) Karahoundris, Kostantina (Ioannis) Spyropoulos, and Maria (Nick) Botzas. He will be fondly remember and missed by Kosta and Gianoulla Karvelas, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, family and friends in Greece and Canada.
Ilias worked at the Royal-Victoria hospital until he retired and also worked for many years as a part-time taxi driver for Champlain Taxi.
Thank you is not enough for Dr. Chantal Lafond and nurse Wendy Velasquez at Sacré-Cœur Hospital for their care and support.
Burial at Lakeview Memorial Gardens cemetery, Pointe-Claire.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson Society Quebec.
