Normand Danis

It is with deep sorrow that the Ordre des chiropraticiens du Québec announces the passing of its president, Dr. Normand Danis, age 52, after a brave battle, and surrounded by his family, on April 3rd, 2007.

While practicing in the Montréal area since 1980, he accepted to act as President of the Ordre des chiropraticiens du Québec in 1987. Dr. Normand Danis was fully committed to the promotion of his dear chiropractic profession.

Graduate of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1980, he has been president of the Association des chiropraticiens du Québec and officer of the Canadian Chiropractic Association from 1985 to 1987. In the course of his career, he has been president of the Canadian Committee for chiropractic specialties and co-chaired the joint committee of the Canadian Chiropractic Association and the Canadian Federation of Chiropractic Regulatory Boards for the development of Chiropractic clinical guidelines. Among his duties as president, he has acted on behalf of the chiropractic profession before the Québec Interprofessional Council.

L’Association des chiropraticiens du Québec awarded him the Prize of Chiropraticien de l’année on two occasions. He was granted the title of Fellow by the International Chiropractic Council. He was awarded the Order of merit by the Canadian Chiropractic Association and was named Chiropractor of the year, in 2004, by the Canadian Chiropractor magazine.

Other than his mother, Madame Jacqueline Martimbeau and his two children Élizabeth and Laurent-Philippe, Doctor Normand Danis leaves to mourn his spouse, Doctor Diane Houle, the mother of his children, Doctor Line Daneault, his brother Richard (Louise Lamb and their two daughters, Véronique and Evelyne), the children of his spouse, Chelsea (David Sideneau), Daphnee and Shally, and his uncle Raymond Martimbeau. He also leaves to mourn many relatives, friends, and colleagues.

Funeral service at 2 PM at St. Laurent’s church, 805 boulevard Ste-Croix, Ville St-Laurent.
