Guy Labelle
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Guy Labelle on October 8, 2015, surrounded by his loving family and wife of 69 years, Louise Brodeur.
Born in 1920 in Montreal , Guy is survived by his children, Hélène (l’hon. Marc De Wever), Jacques (Suzanne Laurin), Suzanne (Bruce Shadeed), and Robert (Marissa Mancini), his grandchildren, Marie-Christine (Daniel Asselin), Marie-Louise (Robert Badowski), Katou (Clarence Simon), Michael (Carole Dallala), Nicholas, Sophie (Luc Gauthier), Alexander, Julie and Stéphanie and 6 great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
A successful businessman, his career included accomplishments in the construction industry as well as a distinguished post in the public sector retiring at the age of 68.
Guy served as a member of the board of directors of COGECO from 1957 to 1998.
His greatest gift was his love of family and his ability to bond with all of those around him. He leaves us with the memory of a father and a husband who enjoyed life to the fullest and who’s generosity and caring serves as an example for his family to live by. He will be sadly missed.
