Dr. Luc Nicole

February 15, 2015, at the age of 53 years passed away Dr.Luc Nicole.

Besides his beloved wife Guylaine Vachon, he is survived by his children Marie (Frédéric), Thomas (Annie-Claude) and Benedicte (Olivier François), his parents Pierre and Marcelle, his sister Natalie (Michel) and her children, his brother Claude (Marjorie), his in-laws Madeleine and Guy Vachon, his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Judith (Brian), Christine (the late Louis), Josée (Denis) and Martin (Daniele) as well as many parents, friends and colleagues.

Psychiatrist graduated from the University of Montreal in 1989, he devoted his career to the development of clinics in Quebec for the first psychotic episode and to raise awareness of schizophrenia to the public. After working at the Laval University, Robert-Giffard and the Hôtel-Dieu of Lévis, he became head of the Medical clinic of Young Adults at the University Institute in mental health of Montreal, then developed psychotic disorders program and managed it from 2006 to 2013.


At the same time, he founded the Quebec Association of First Psychotic Episode Programs (QAFPEP).

Passionate and innovative teacher he became involved abroad including developing a clinical placement in Benin, and locally as instructor, lecturer and Director of Education at the IUSMM.

Attentive father, loving spouse, devoted friend, chronic traveler, athlete and cultivated man, he radiates today with people that he knew and leaves in its wake a legacy both personal as professional up to the values that it has always promoted.

Religious service will be held on Saturday, February 21 at 11 a.m. at the Church St.-Joseph-de-Mont-Royal at 1620 Laird boulevard in Town of Mont-Royal.

At the specific request of Luc, in lieu of flowers, your sympathy marks can result in donations to the Friends of the Mountain Association or Ducks Unlimited Canada Foundation, organizations working specifically for the conservation of the natural environment
