Raymond Ayoup

Passed away peacefully on June 12, 2014 at the age of 77 surrounded by his loving family.
Son of the late Waddie and Mary Ayoup, predeceased by his sister Nelli-Anne. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 48 years, Gwendolyn Kousaie, devoted father of Colleen and Robert (Firuza), adoring grandfather of Ethan and Lukas. He also leaves to mourn his sister Evelyn (Philip) as well as many sister and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.

Graduate of Bishops University, and McGill University in the Faculty of Law. A member of the Bar Association, he had a successful Family Law practice for over 50 years. He served on the National Council on Canadian-Arab Relations and was awarded for his years of commitment and devotion. He was a Life Governor for the Lebanese Syrian Canadian Association and was awarded for meritorious service. He was involved with and served on the board of St.George Antiochian Orthodox Church. He was a member of the Order of St.Ignatius. In addition, he was a committed supporter of several charitable organizations.

The family will receive condolences at St.George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 555 Jean-Talon Est, Montreal, on Monday June 16, 2014 from to 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday as of 10 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church.
